Brand Profile
Alec Bradley Trilogy Cigars are handmade in Honduras. Trilogy cigars are available in three of the most popular cigar shapes: Robusto (5 x 52), Churchill (6 ? x 52), and Torpedo (6 x 52).
The generous ring gauge allows for a 5-nation blend, and cigar smokers looking for a larger cigar will appreciate the extra smoke it affords.
Trilogy cigars are also available in three distinctively different cigar wrappers that give smokers their choice of flavors: Exotic Brazilian (a Maduro Arapiraca leaf), Native Cameroon from Africa (Natural), and Authentic Corojo (a deep, rich reddish-brown, first-generation Cuban Corojo cigar tobacco from 1998).
Alec Bradley Medalist Cigars
Alec Bradley Medalist cigars were launched on the cigar market in 2005. Handmade in Danli, Honduras, the serious cigar aficionado may recognize this cigar line as have classic Costa Rican cigar characteristics. The rich Costa Rican wrapper is oily and delivers immense flavor and full body. The taste is very bold and complex, sure to please the the most discriminating cigar aficionado.
Wrapper: Costa Rican Habano
Binder: Connecticut
Filler: Jalapa, Jamastran, Esteli
Alec Bradley Cigar Company has introduced Alec Bradley Medalist cigars, its first full-bodied premium cigar. It was developed to satisfy the more experienced palate," explains company founder and president Alan Rubin. "Veterans, as well as newer cigar enthusiasts who have graduated from milder cigars, will appreciate the rich, full flavor of this premium cigar. We gave it a sophisticated blend of five different tobaccos, which harmonize to smooth out its power.
This large ring-gauge cigar combines filler from three different Central American growing regions; a Connecticut binder; and a dark, oily Costa Rican wrapper.
Five shapes are currently shipping: Robusto (5 x 52), Cuban Belicoso (5 1/2 x 52 torpedo), Gordo (6 x 54), and Churchill (7 x 50). A fifth shape, the Medalist Tubo (6 x 47), is packaged in aluminum tubes.
In a departure from the contemporary look of Alec Bradley's other cigar box styles, the company is presenting Medalist in a traditional Cuban-style paper-covered cedar box with paper-taped edges and classic graphics. Ten cigars are packaged in a single level. Medallion images on the package are printed in traditional metallic ink, known for its lush richness, rather than more common gold foil.
The Alec Bradley Medalist cigar is breaking new ground for Alec Bradley cigars, notes Rubin. It delivers a lot of flavor and body for a very reasonable price, he says, and is aimed at a higher market plateau than our present value-priced premium cigars. This higher quality requires higher-grade leaf and tighter factory quality control standards, which make the cigar worth the extra cost.
