Brand Profile

With a 93 rating from Cigar Aficionado, box pressed CAO Extreme cigars are must try cigars for those who prefer a cigar with a bite.  The CAO L'Anniversaire line was launched to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the CAO brand, and the CAO Extreme is the third cigar within this line. This is a wonderfully dark and rich full-bodied cigar with a pepper flavor and notes of sweetness with a dry, bold finish.  Don't be fooled by the name Extreme - as they are not and overpowering cigars. Rather they are extreme in their complexity of flavors and depth.  CAO Extreme cigars are a blend of five different Nicaraguan fillers, a Nicaraguan binder and thick, oily, Ecuadorian Sumatra seed wrappers.

CAO International, Inc. is the producer of one of the country's top lines of premium cigars, Meerschaum pipes and pipe tobaccos. Founded by Cano A. Ozgener in Nashville as a labor of love 39 years ago, today CAO cigar products can be found on every continent in the world (with the exception of Antarctica!). CAO cigars produces eight cigar lines that have all been rated 90 (OUTSTANDING) or above by Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider.

"Strong" January 4, 2006
This is a dark strong cigar. It's wrapper is quite oily and slightly veiny. It has a beautiful aroma even before you light it up. The cap was the only thing I found not up to par. But the flavour... wow and the consistancy of the burn...perfect.

I'm a big fan of CAO, and enjoy an Extreme on a regular basis. This is a silky box-pressed smoke with wood notes.

Loved this cigar. Reminds me of a Cuban Cohiba Siglo II or III with slightly less depth. Spicy with a great silky wrapper, great burn with loads of smoke very well done. Will be buying a box of these soon.
