This figurado is produced from an Italian Habano seed brought to Italy from Cuba 40+ years ago. This seed is grown in the Benevento region of southern Italy. The result is the CAO Italia Gondola cigar with a unique earthy-sweetness, that rounds out CAO Italia's robust, full-bodied flavor.

The Robb Report, the magazine dedicated to the luxury lifestyle, selected CAO Italia cigars as one of the "Best of the Best" cigars of the year for 2005. CAO Italia cigars are available in four shapes: CAO Italia Novella (4 1/2 x 46), CAO Italia Ciao (5 x 56), CAO Italia Gondola (6 1/4 x 54 torpedo), and CAO Italia Piazza (6 x 60).

"Delicious CAO" January 5, 2008
This is a dark, well constructed, extremely flavorful addition to the CAO cigar lineup. the CAO Italia Gondola burns very evenly with a good draw. One of a few CAO cigars that I would consider to be a full flavored. Very tasty!

Being an Italian American, I think it's pretty cool that the CAO Italia cigar line is one of the only cigars in the world to include premium Italian leaf in its blend. This cigar is complex and well balanced and you should try one if you haven't yet. The CAO Italia Piazza is my personal favorite size but you may want to try the CAO Italia Novella size first if you are new to the line, as it's a cheaper and a shorter cigar. Ciao.

"Worth a try" November 16, 2004
CAOs always seem well made to me. This is no exception with a great draw. The dark wrapper is a pleasure to look at and is nice an oily. Starts spicy with cedar notes, with complexity building in the 2nd third, and ending with pleasant nut flavors. Burned it to the nub. Will be fun to see how this evolves after some down time in the humi.
